It was Good Friday, March 25, 2005 at 6:15 pm in MLY General Hospital, Angeles City, when I had the first view of this world...
As a preparation for my birth and an advice by an OB-GYNE and relatives, my mom Arlyne would walked down the nearby streets in the subdivision every morning. Since it was holiday, my dad, Jojo didn't go to work and joined my mom with her morning exercise. They walked longer than the her usual routine. At about 11:30 am, she had blood-stained mucus discharges which they also called as the "show". She told my dad and Lola Mel about it. My grandma said to prepare the things needed for my birth (which have been prepared beforehand). My mom took a bath, then ate lunch and went to the hospital. At the hospital, while a nurse was interviewing my mom another nurse was doing an IE (internal exam) to measure the cervical dilatation and to check if the bag of water (BOW) is still intact. She was 3-4 cm dilated. The nurse told her to walk for I didn't descent fully and BOW is still intact. About 2pm, my mom started to feel labor pains. It was tolerable at first but then gradually getting severe. The bag of water burst at about 4pm so my mom had to lie on bed. When she no longer could take the pain, she was transferred to the delivery room. She was fully dilated and was advised to push. With the help of the doctor, a nurse doing fundal push, my mom pushing and the episiotomy, I came out at last with a loud cry. I weighed 6 lbs. and the doctor said that it was good for the size of my mom. If I was bigger, cesarean section would be the choice of delivery. Thank God I was born normally with good APGAR score and nothing had gone wrong with my mom, no complications. God is really good and I was born on a Good Friday.

After 4 hours and 22 minutes, rooming-in time. At last, I'm with my mom again. How I felt happy and secured.

See how many blankets I have? My Lola Mel was concerned that I might get cold because the room was fully airconditioned.
